Hello, October! 🍂 Whether you’re looking for a family outing, an afternoon exploring local art or a night of live music, there’s plenty happening around Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach this weekend.

Here’s your Live Ormond West Around Town roundup to help you make plans!

Friday, October 2

Free Family Art Night

5:30–7 PM | Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens

Start your weekend with a little creativity! This month’s Family Art Night features a “Big Red Dog” project. It’s a fun opportunity to spend time together and let the kids explore their artistic side.

Movies on the Halifax: E.T.

7 PM | Rockefeller Gardens, Ormond Beach

Grab your lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy a FREE outdoor showing of E.T. by the Halifax River. Invite friends, bring the family and settle in for a classic movie under the stars. Concessions will be available.

My suggestion: Start with Family Art Night, then head to Rockefeller Gardens for the movie. Two local activities make an easy Friday evening plan!

Fire Prevention Night

5–8 PM | Beach Street & Magnolia Avenue, Daytona Beach

Head to Downtown Daytona Beach for a free community event that combines family fun with fire safety education. Activities include a scavenger hunt, a stay-low-and-crawl maze, a fire extinguisher game and a fire engine demonstration.

Rock the Beach: A Tribute to Foreigner

Doors open at 7 PM | Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach, Wave Terrace

Looking for a night out with an oceanfront backdrop? Zenerator performs from 8–9 PM, followed by Head Games playing Foreigner favorites from 9:30–11 PM. Tickets are required.

Saturday, October 3

ELC’s Storybook Village

10 AM–1 PM | Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens

Celebrate the magic of books at this FREE family event! Storybook Village is a wonderful option for families looking for a morning outing that encourages imagination and a love of reading.

First Saturday Ormond Art Walk

3–7 PM | Ormond Beach Arts District

Spend Saturday afternoon exploring local art along Granada Boulevard. Make the Ormond Memorial Art Museum one of your stops to see Janessa Douds’ pop-up exhibit and meet the artist. Her gallery talk begins at 5 PM, and Art Walk admission is free.

Pair your art stops with dinner nearby for a relaxed evening in Ormond Beach.

Saturday & Sunday, October 3–4

The PropCon

10 AM–5 PM both days | Ocean Center, Daytona Beach

For an indoor weekend adventure, check out The PropCon! The event brings together movie props, artists, makers, cosplayers, interactive exhibits and live entertainment. Children ages 10 and under receive free admission with a paid adult ticket.

Living Here Is About More Than Your Home

One of my favorite things about sharing Ormond Beach is helping people discover the everyday experiences that make a place feel like home—from an evening by the river to community events and local art.

Whether you already live here or you’re considering a move, I hope this roundup helps you find something you’ll enjoy this weekend.
